Hi Peter,
I am happy to help. Just curious, why are you not liking the new Free Transform? I think it is actually quite a bit easier than the old way. The only hard part is having to re-train the brain, but I see it as a great move by Adobe in the long run, especially when the full version of Photoshop is on the iPad. We are not going to want to use Shift-Option on mobile devices.
I do not recommend reverting back to the legacy behavior which is why I did not explain it in detail, but I did copy the instructions verbatim from the Adobe website.
Text Edit is free and included on every Mac. It is is a simple text editor found in your Applications folder.
- Open Text Editor
- Create a Blank Text Document
- Copy and paste the line of code: TransformProportionalScale 0
- Save the file as “PSUserConfig.txt” to your Photoshop settings folder:
- The folder is located here:
macOS: //Users/[User Name]/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop CC 2019 Settings/
Best to you,
Mike
