Reminders: How To Group Lists in iOS 13

This tutorial will show you how to organize Reminder Lists into Groups. Groups is a good way to organize your reminders into related tasks. Reminders app was completely rebuilt for iOS 13 & Mac OS Catalina and quite an upgrade from previous versions.

  • Groups = Folders or Stacks
  • Organize individual reminder lists into groups
  • Groups may include: Projects, Clients, Work, Life, Personal, Travel…
  • Groups can work for GTD (Get Things Done) to break apart Inbox (Capture), Next Actions, Review, Projects, Someday/Maybe…
  • Once Groups are created, you can just drag lists into the Groups or drag them out to remove
  • Right-click to

There are two different methods to Create Group Lists

  1. Drag & Drop one reminder list on another
  2. Go to ‘Edit’ menu and select ‘Add Group’

1. How To Group Reminder Lists: Drag & Drop

  1. Open Reminders App on iOS Device
  2. Long-press on any individual Reminder List
  3. Drag & Drop onto another list (you will see a grey highlight)
  4. Type in Name of Group
  5. Click ‘Include’ to add or remove other lists into the New Group
  6. Click ‘Create’ in top-right
  7. Drag Lists to change order or Ungroup

2. How To Group Reminder Lists: Edit Menu

Note: Use this Method to Delete/Remove Groups on iOS 13

  1. Open Reminders App on iOS Device
  2. Tap ‘Edit’ in top-right
  3. Click ‘Add Group’ in bottom-left
  4. Type in Name of New Group
  5. Click ‘Include’ to add or remove other lists
  6. Tap Green Plus (+) to include lists and tap Red Minus (-) to remove lists
  7. Click ‘Create’ in top-right
  8. Drag Lists to change order or Ungroup

Click on Edit Menu & Add Group

To Delete Groups:

  1. Swipe: On iOS Devices: Swipe Left on a Group and tap the Trash Can. (You can Delete Group Only or Delete Groups & Lists)
  2. Edit Menu: Click ‘Edit’ in top-right, tap the red minus icon next to the Group icon and then select: Delete Group Only or Delete Groups & Lists
