How To Leave a Rating & Review on iTunes
Stating the Obvious:
Apple Podcast App needs help. It is confusing to navigate and it does not make it easy for listeners of podcasts to leave a Rating & Review. #bummer. Most listeners tell me they tried to leave me a review, but gave up because they could not figure it out. Until Apple listens to feedback, it is up to the podcaster to make it easy for your listeners to subscribe and leave a Rating & Review.
Educate Your Listeners.
Tell them why:
Leaving a rating and review supports the podcaster and the show.
Improve rankings in iTunes.
Shows engagement which may attract sponsors.
Keeps podcaster motivated to make more shows.
Guide them how:
Rather than tell listeners to go do it, talk them through how to do it.
Step 1. Click Down Arrow To Exit out of Listening Mode
Step 2: Click Search Icon in Bottom Right (Magnifying Glass)
Step 3: Type in Name of this Podcast (Mike Murphy Unplugged)
Step 4: Click Cover Art Thumbnail under ‘Podcasts’
Step 5: Click On The Middle Tab That Says Review
Step 6: Scroll Down & Click on Write A Review
Step 7: Tap 1–5 Stars to Leave a Rating
Step 8: Click on Title & Type
Step 9: Click On Description and write a short blurb
Step 10: Click Send
