What is Screencasting Software?: An application on your computer that records computer screen, iOS Devices, Webcams

Recording Tip: Record your screen in full resolution (my retina display is 2880 x 1800 so it’s much larger than 1920x1080 and that allows me to scale down without quality loss.

Quicktime (Free on Macs)

STEP 3: Exporting & Formatting.

Terminology to Learn:
P=pixels
HD= High Definition
Frame Rate: 30 fps or 24 fps
16:9 = Wide Aspect Ratio
1:1 = Square Aspect Ratio
Mp4= File Extension for Video
H.264= Codec for Web Videos

Recommended Sizes for Final Video:

YouTube: 1920x1080p
Website: 1920 x 1080p
Medium: 1920 x 1080p
Facebook: 1920 x 1080 & 1080 x 1080
Twitter: 1920 x 1080 & 1080 x 1080

Instagram Posts:
1080 x 1080 (Square)
864 x 1080 (Vertical)
1800 x 945 (Horizontal)
1920 x 1080 (Wide)
